Welcome to South George Town Primary School

Our school is located in the very north of Tasmania. With just over 200 students, South George Town Primary is a small school that knows its students and families well. Consequently we offer highly individualised and differentiated learning experiences for our young children from birth to year 6. Our students have a strong sense of identity and belonging to our school. At South we explicitly teach our school values of Learning, Respect, Relationships and Responsibility. Our staff and students model these values which in turn promote calm, meaningful and safe learning environments every day.

Teachers at South George Town Primary School know that our students deserve the best opportunities at their education. We deliver quality teaching and learning experiences to every student, every day. Our school has high expectations with regards to learning and behaviour. Teachers build meaningful and respectful relationships with students, families and the wider community.

South George Town Primary School maintains strong and healthy relationships with families. We actively encourage families to get involved with their children's learning. As a school we work in partnership with families to make a significant positive impact on children's education. Simply put, South George Town Primary School has great students, great families and great teachers working together to deliver the best educational experiences possible for the children in our community. Our ambition is to have our students become resilient, passionate, life-long learners who strive to reach their goals in life.
